I will always choose you.

Jenna Looch <3. Twenty-three.

I will always choose Delena. Wishing Damon Salvatore was real while I girlcrush on Nina Dobrev.

 in bed with Damon

  • Damon: "But you know what I really am? Selfish. Because I make bad choices that hurt you. Yes, I would rather die than be human. I'd rather die right now than spend a handful of years with you only to lose you when I'm too old and sick and miserable and you're still you. I'd rather die right now than spend my last final years remembering how good I had it and how happy I was. Because that who I am and I'm not going to change. And there's no apology in the world that encompasses all the reasons that I'm wrong for you."
  • Elena: "Fine then I'm not sorry either. I’m not sorry that I met you. I’m not sorry that knowing you has made me question everything, that in death you’re the one that made me feel most alive. You’ve been a terrible person. You made all the wrong choices and of all the choices that I’ve made this will prove to be the worst one but I am not sorry that I'm in love with you. I love you, Damon."

❝Well, the first question is, what does she feel, if anything? And who does she feel it for, if anything? And where does she stand with Damon? Poor Damon, the big, lingering question that he’s been feeling from the beginning is “Is this love that she feels for me real?” He doesn’t believe it’s real because he doesn’t believe he deserves it, and he doesn’t believe he can be happy, but he wants so desperately to know. Now we’re in a predicament where she’s not really feeling anything at all.❞
-Can Elena and Damon sustain any kind of romance with her humanity gone? Is that even on the table? [x]

Official Synopsis for 4x16 | Bring It On

THE NEW NORMAL — Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) new outlook has everyone concerned, leading Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to agree that going back to the normal routine of high school would be the best thing for her. Caroline (Candice Accola) is pleasantly surprised when Elena decides to rejoin the cheerleading squad, but her pleasure turns to shock when Elena’s behavior proves dangerous. Not giving up on their search for the cure, Damon and Rebekah (Claire Holt) work together until his unwanted advice catches her off-guard. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) tries to use Hayley (guest star Phoebe Tonkin) to get the information he’s after and makes an intriguing discovery in the process. Meanwhile, a bored Elena throws a wild party and gets into an ugly fight. The episode was directed by Jesse Warn and written by Elisabeth R. Finch & Michael Narducci.

The “Switch”
A lot of people seem to be in disagreement with the writers. Not so long ago we were told that the so-called “switch” that controls a vampires emotions was a myth. A lot of you are now relying on that fact for Elena. If the switch is a myth how could she turn it off even with Damon pulling a sirebond on her?

The problem is you’re forgetting the whole quote:

2x09 | Katerina:

Rose: It’s a lie, you know. There’s no switch you can turn off. Sure when you’re a newbie but after a couple of hundred years… you just have to pretend.

A lot of you seem to be forgetting that Elena is only a baby vamp. She’s only a couple months old- definitely NOT a couple hundred. The switch still works for her and with the added bonus of the sire bond willing her to flip it, there’s no doubt that she’s in deep. She doesn’t want to feel these things. It hurts too much. She has too much grief right now. She needs to put it aside until she’s ready but being a new vampire comes with overwhelming emotions, everything is heightened.

It won’t last long. Even Katherine who like Elena  lost everyone she loved, her whole family, stated that it only lasts for so long before the need to feel fights its way back in and then it’s just a matter of letting it or living in denial.

And right now… Elena needs to keep it away until she’s ready to face it.

Would just like to point out that…

Elena refusing to give Meredith Jeremy’s body and the way she has him laying down in bed like he’s sleeping is yet another parallel of Gone With the Wind. When Rhett feels responsible for the death of his daughter he pushes everyone away and holds vigil in Bonnie’s bedroom. He keeps lights on because she was afraid of the dark. He keeps her in her bed and stays with her, drunk and in a sense of denial. It’s heart-wrenching and it takes Mellie to get him to agree to hand over the body and let them have a proper funeral.

Yupp. This episode is going to break me.
